FARGO (AP) — Sugar beet cooperatives in the Red River Valley of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota are anticipating record yields, meaning farmers might not be allowed to harvest all of their acres.
As Inbicon A/S and Great River Energy continue looking at the potential of a $200 million biomass ethanol refinery near Spiritwood, the next step locally is exploring biomass production capability in the region.
A record 381 oil wells were drilled in North Dakota in the past year and more are expected this year, the state mineral resources director told oil representatives Thursday.
Lynn Helms gave his report to about 250 people at the North Dakota Petroleum Council’s annual meeting.
