The Green vision Group is working with Energy beets for ethanol production.
The GVG is made up of four people in North Dakota and an advisory council of farmers and businessmen.
Energy beets are sugar beets that will work to produce ethanol with good economics compared to today’s ethanol, according to Maynard Helgaas, GVG president. Energy beets have been shown to yield 38-40 ton at the Oakes Research Test site under irrigation. High yield of Energy beets will transpose into more sugar production which will produce more ethanol.
The North Dakota State University Extension Service offices in Foster and Eddy counties and the U.S .Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency are teaming up to host an informational meeting about the USDA’s Livestock Indemnity Program.
Just a reminder to area livestock producers that an informational meeting on Bovine TB will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 in Detroit Lakes. This meeting is open to all area livestock producers. The meeting will be held in Room C103 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College, located on East Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes.
The opening general session at the International Biomass ‘08 Conference and Trade Show, to be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, April 15-17, will feature a biofuels sustainability panel titled Biofuels, Sustainability, and Carbon: Getting It Right, setting the theme of sustainability for the conference.
