The Mayport Farmer’s Co-op Elevator has revoked a building-permit application for two new grain silos, for now, and is moving forward with installation of a dust-control system for the building it has now.
Demands by town residents have been heard after the downtown Mayport Co-op Elevator voted to install air-filtering equipment ahead of a proposed expansion project. The board voted Tuesday morning to install the filter equipment, and hopes to have the system running by the end of the year, said President Richard Moen.
Group will honor Nelson for aiding financially-troubled farms For almost three decades, Lavon Nelson has given farmers financial and moral support. On Monday, Nelson, of Mayville, will receive an award for his work when the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Northern Plains chapter, honors him with the Lifetime Achievement Legacy of Giving Award. The award will be presented to Nelson at the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon in Fargo.
