North Dakota’s agriculture commissioner said Oct. 16 he will ask the state Legislature for funding for two inspectors to help resolve complaints from landowners, farmers and ranchers unhappy with how their land has been restored around pipelines.
The Grand Forks County Board of Equalization gave the green light to highly contentious farmland valuations at a meeting Tuesday.
The average valuation will be about 1 percent less than the 2013 average.
The mood was tense at the Grand Forks County Office Building Thursday where the county commissioners went against the majority of the audience in their recommendations to address rising land valuations.
