FARGO--Some of North Dakota's top elected officials were in town to talk ag at the 2015 Bio-Industry Summit.
U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., stressed the importance of exports, and research and development at the summit, held at North Dakota State University last week.
On the heels of a letter sent by Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., to Dakota Prairie Grassland Supervisor Dennis Neitzke on March 5, the senator said she’s pushing for the U.S. Forest Service to “provide fair grazing access for parts of the Dakota Grasslands.”
School lunch officials now have a little more wiggle room with calories, protein and grain services after the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that temporary changes lobbied for by a group of bipartisan U.S. senators, including sponsor John Hoeven, R-N.D., and co-sponsor Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., are now permanent.
The North Dakota Democrat heard concerns from agricultural representatives at a recent roundtable.
