WASHINGTON — The top leaders in both parties on the House and Senate Agriculture committees have agreed to a one-year extension of the 2008 farm bill that expired in October, a move that could head off a possible doubling of milk prices next month.
WASHINGTON — Thirty-nine House members including Republican Reps. Rick Berg of North Dakota, Kristi Noem of South Dakota and Dennis Rehberg of Montana signed the discharge petition to move the farm bill to the House floor on Sept. 13, only hours after Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, moved it.
WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives on Sept. 14 passed a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government for six months that will fund most U.S. Department of Agriculture programs but limit enrollments in conservation programs.
