Both the Stutsman County Fair and the Tatanka Festival had great results in Jamestown this past week, event organizers say.
“This year will be a benchmark for us,” said Al Lindberg, Stutsman County Fair Board president.
Beautiful weather and a lack of mosquitoes helped bring in near-record attendance for the four-day event, Lindberg said.
Most adults have at least fleeting childhood memories of flying diamond-shaped kites, which often seemed to entail a lot of effort with dubious results. If the kites made it into the sky at all, it wasn’t for long.
At the 15th Annual Jamestown Kite Festival over the weekend, youngsters who made their own kites with help from Jamestown Parks and Recreation staff, effortlessly flew their creations.
Al Batt will provide entertainment at the Goodhue County Home Study Spring Festival May 4 at Grandpa’s Event Center in Cannon Falls.
