Quinn Olson says it’s a way to get better, fresher food out there in a more convenient way. A 1986 graduate of the high school in Fosston, which is about 60 miles southeast of East Grand Forks on U.S. Highway 2, Olson lived in California for about 20 years before moving back a little more than a year ago to care for his mother.
The Duluth Farmers Market is planning a big splash to mark its 2011 centennial — the opening of a new, larger, year-round facility that could triple the number of vendors and offer cooking classes and arts programs.

The second stage of the Plains Art Museum’s “Plains Inside Out” campaign kicks off tonight with the first Plain Food Farmer’s Market, a weekly event every Thursday through Oct. 1 at the museum, 704 1st Ave. N., Fargo.
