FARGO – Xcel Energy, North Dakota State University Memorial Union Gallery and NDSU Civic Engagement Programming have partnered to present “Be Green,” a series of talks to spur discussion and creative thinking on the topic of sustainability.
Pierce County is hosting the state of Wisconsin's Farm Technology Days July 20-22, and, while heavy on the technology, the event will be a mix of past and present, entertainment and education, fun and functionality.

Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion
The 55th annual Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion continues today at the WMSTR grounds in Rollag. Gates open at 6 a.m., with ladies’ activities starting at 9 a.m. on Main Street. The morning parade and horsepower demonstration both get underway at 10 a.m., and a steam hammer plate-stamping exhibition begins at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The afternoon parade gets underway at 2 p.m. Evening activities will include live music at 7 and 8 p.m., with an Honorary Steam Queen presentation at 7:30 p.m., and a “Sparkle Show” in the Sandbox after dark. The Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers will host their 34th annual show Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21-23.
The LIRPF were able to obtain the furnishing and equipment of the historic Lake Itasca Post Office that has moved to the showgrounds.
Promoters are in high spirits as Dakotafest begins today, thanks to an increase in new exhibitors that are expected to provide attendees with a greater variety of displays.
Todd Benz, manager of Dakotafest, said 541 vendors were signed up on Monday morning for the three-day event, which features equipment displays, demonstrations, seminars, entertainment and political forums.
