ST. LOUIS — Deere & Co., the world’s largest maker of agricultural equipment, said Wednesday its quarterly net income more than doubled as rising crop prices encouraged U.S. farmers to buy new farm machinery and plant their fields fencepost to fencepost.
Deere & Co. says its second-quarter profit jumped 16 percent as sales of farm and construction equipment improved, so the maker of iconic green and yellow machinery raised its outlook for the second time this year.
