CHICAGO - Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures closed higher on Tuesday, helped by rising wholesale beef values, traders said.
June ended 0.725 cent per lb higher at 151.450 cents per lb, and August was up 0.775 cent at 149.900 cents.

WASHINGTON — The nation’s two leading grain organizations on May 10 urged the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to institute a 30-day public comment period to provide time to assess issues related to announced plans by the InterContinental Exchange and CME Group to launch expanded electronic trading hours this month for grain and oilseed futures and options contracts.

CHICAGO — CME Group announced May 1 it will expand electronic trading hours in its Chicago Board of Trade grain and oilseed futures and options beginning May 14. This will expand market access to CBOT corn, soybeans, wheat, soybean meal, soybean oil, oats and rough rice futures and options on CME Globex to 22 hours per day.
