The Organic Trade Association on May 12 formally petitioned the U.S. Department of Agriculture to begin the process of setting up an organic checkoff that it said would collect money for research and promotion to allow the industry to grow and clear up consumer confusion about organic products.
The U.S. sorghum industry is on the upswing, and supporters of the U.S. Sorghum Checkoff — the future of which is being determined in nationwide voting — are optimistic that even better days are ahead.
