Mustard slightly falling
Mustard is a crop that, relatively speaking, is moving. Granted, there’s probably some December contracts still waiting to be delivered and if you want to move it today, it will probably be at a bit of a discount.

Wheat, durum markets floundering
Farmers are sour on wheat and durum markets. A year ago they were selling gold; now a buyer is doing them a favor by taking it off farmers’ hands. It doesn’t take long to build up resentment. Even worse, if farmers want the money and can’t move it, they don’t get the money.

Wheat: quiet trade continues Wheat contracts were narrowly mixed throughout last week. The lack of buying interest continues to come from disappointing exports, as well as from technical pressure. Most of the selling was tied to good crop ratings for U.S. winter wheat, as well as from larger-than-expected supplies of wheat in the world.

Limited demand for lentils
Lentils are always trading, but prompt delivery is another story. Exporters report limited global demand. Only Spain is a solid customer. Most buyers are going slowly. India has pretty much stopped buying. Reds are the only lentil that are showing any strength and some of that comes from shipping problems in Australia, currently harvesting.

Merry Christmas
Wheat struggled again last week, trading to another round of lows. For the week ending Dec. 19, wheat had traded with losses in every session and has traded lower 11 of the past 12 sessions. The lack of direction and weak fundamental picture continues to added pressure. For the week ending Dec. 19, March Minneapolis dropped 14.5 cents, March Chicago slipped 18 cents and March Kansas City dropped 19.75 cents.
