  • Lake County Dairy LLC at Ramona, S.D., has been revamped from a dairy that failed. It is being used initially as only calving facility for other Prairie Ridge Management dairies – each some 200 miles away in North Dakota and Minnesota. The Lake County dairy is permitted for 700 cows, but has buildings for 550, and owners likely will seek an expansion to 1,300. (Mikkel Pates / Agweek)
