Record production

Farmers attending a growers meeting and luncheon in East Grand Plains near Roswell, New Mexico Wednesday, August 11, 2010, emerge from a corn field during an informative tour of the farm.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Thursday forecast corn production of 13.4 billion bushels in 2010, with soybean production of 3.43 billion bushels. Both estimates would be a 2 percent increase over 2009 crop figures, the current highest annual production on record. (AP Photo/Roswell Daily Record Mark Wilson)
