The funeral for Wold in Winger, Minn.

Three years to the day after Nels T. Wold was killed and buried near Cheppy, France, in the last weeks of World War I, his remains were returned to his home town of Winger, Minn., for a funeral that local newspapers reported attracted "thousands" Sept. 26, 1921. The hearse/ambulance can be seen on the right. (Submitted by Fern Letnes, New York, N.Y., a grand-niece of Wold. )
