Volunteer Gene Boysen works at Rabideaux Orchard near Bayfield on Friday. Boysen and other volunteers picked nearly 11 tons of apples for the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank — a welcome donation in a year in which demand has increased by 27 percent at 31 regional food shelves the food bank supplies.
