Librarian Norma Scott serves up another helping of cookies to girls at the Somerset Library’s American Girl Tea Party on Saturday, Jan. 5. Scott said the library has been holding the tea party for at least 10 years. Scott said the event is fun for kids, librarians, parents and volunteers. At the event, Scott said girls ages 5-12 and their American Girl dolls enjoyed tea, healthy snacks and cookies. Scott also talked about history and the stories of the dolls with the girls. American Girl Dolls each have a fictitious history written down in a small series of books, detailing the doll’s life in the historical time period she “lived” through. This year’s featured doll was Samantha, who lived in the early 1900s.
