Flood-control dam

This water comes from a flood-control dam near Cavalier, N.D., and is pumped out to irrigate nearby fields. Without the dam, the water would have contributed to spring flooding in northeast North Dakota and eventually ended up in Canada's Hudson Bay. Agweek photo by John Brose Photography.
