Cutting down a big tree

It took members of the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers nearly two hours Saturday to fell this partial pine, a victim of the July 2012 blowdown at the park. The top was sheared off. Park officials said only a third of the northern end of the park was visibly impacted by the storm. They decided to clear the dead wood in this demonstration. (Sarah Smith / Enterprise)
