James A. Larsen of Rosholt, S.D., worked in a bank in Wheaton, Minn., when he was building his cattle herd. His multiple sclerosis since has worsened. He sold his farmstead and hired a young neighbor to care for them. The neighbor illegally sold them and was convicted of felony theft, but Larsen still wants to find the cows.
