Depth finder

Darrin Severance keeps an eye on his GPS and depth finder screens while navigating the upstream side of Spirit Lake on the St. Louis River near Duluth on Tuesday afternoon. The depth in the area is about 2.8 feet. The Coast Guard will place navigation buoys only in channels that are greater than six feet deep. (Clint Austin / caustin@duluthnews.com)
