Yea that sounds down right, wrong. That is a cruel way to kill anything. There has got to be a better way to do this.

I have chopped the chickens heads off at my dad's but that is a little different then throwing them into a grinder. One swoop with my ax and it is all over...grinder just sounds so much worse.

Why do so many people have romanticized visions of the meat processing industry in this country? Meat does not "grow" in the grocery store all shrink wrapped and labeled. I admit I could not grind up a chick and I truly love animals, but I don't think people should be shocked to find that the meat they eat every day had to die to get on their plates and that there is some collateral damage along the way.

Chris C. is right. This cruelty is just one of many by factory farms. Its amazing how little people actually know about the cruel practices of industrialized animal agriculture. Hermann U. you are also correct few will probably become vegetarians or vegans, but the message may get through to some. I have been a vegan for 5 years now.

That make me sick! I had no idea. Why in this day and age should something as barbaric as that still be occurring?!

So it takes one week longer to raise a rooster for meat!!!! Greed Greed.. Well, you see I buy only Free Range ..from my local producer..and eggs.. The only reason animals are living in gramped conditions is because they got a way with it for so long.. But time is a changijng.. ,

People who never considered the processes used by the meat and poultry industy are suddenly sickened by a video. They make a lot of noise for a little while, then they regress back into ignorance. How many of them will become vegetarians? My guess is: Few (because, it's not easy). I imagine many will be having a chicken sandwich while they make noise.

I'm sure someone somewhere would appreciate having that chick to grow into an adult and subsequently a meal for them.

There was a sign over one of my old bosses desk. "If you bring a problem, bring a solution". Mr Renkie would not be welcome in that bosses office.
