Grand Inquisitor G, "just because you see one film on one group doesnt make the entire industry evil." I was really surprised to see you write that. Keep that in mind when you are preaching about Acorn and the Democrats.

M.S. your statement is not correct. My wife's family ran a dairy farm in Wisconsin and the cows roamed the country side all day, when it was time for milking they were herded to the barn, put in stalls until the milking was complete and then released back to the fields to graze. just because you see one film on one group doesnt make the entire industry evil. And, if you choose to be a vegan, knock yourself out. live and let live. now to go prep some steaks.

All the more reason to become self-educators, or homeschool. Children who go to corporate/institutional/industrial modeled schools are as warehoused and mistreated as factory raised cows and chickens. Free range chickens are freer than kids in industrial schools. Kids who are homeschooled, you could compare them to free range chickens, or cows. So it doesn't surprise me that kids are being fed the same way they are being schooled. I would never send my kid to a corporate backed school. And all institutional schools are run by corporate power through the corporate government in this country. What really does surprise me in all this is, is how ignorant are all the parents out there. Do they never pick up a book? Read "Dumbing Us Down" by John Taylor Gatto. Read "Weapons of Mass instruction" by John Taylor Gatto. Read "Cloning of the American Mind: Eradicating Morality Through Education" by Bev Eakman. "Conflict of Interest" by Joel Spring

San Fran Nan said "California is a role model for the rest of the nation to follow both fiscally and economically." Wow! That is one intelligent liberal. Bad part about it is the rest of the liberals in the USA BELIEVE IT!

This is nothing new. Most restaurant beef comes from spent dairy cows, who have led nothing but a life of misery on corporate farms, and when they're unable to produce milk, atrophied from being confined to quarters too small to even turn around or lie down in, they're sent to slaughter. Have it your way....if people only knew the truth. If you can handle the truth, go check out Meet Your Meat on YouTube. You may see it as vegan propaganda, but the film doesn't lie-and it's an incredible indictment against the meat industry at all levels other than small, organic farmers who actually care for their animals and provide a comfortable life for them until they're taken for human consumption. If you can get through that video and still think what's going on in every slaugherhouse in the US, the more power to you. My bet is it will change the way you view the beef, pork, dairy, and poultry industries on a permanent basis.

And as far as government officials having this hidden from them; I thought it was the purpose of these government officials to inspect the meat.

Glad to hear that California is keeping to such high standards, after all they say as California goes, so goes the rest of the United States.
