Willmar, Minn., teen pleads not guilty to stealing vehicle and causing fiery crash

WILLMAR — Ex-Savor Rene Cruz, 18, of Willmar, pleaded not guilty Monday to three charges, including a felony for motor vehicle theft, for his role in stealing a van, crashing it into a tree and then fleeing from the fiery scene in a residential Willmar neighborhood.

WILLMAR — Justin Paul Nelson, 25, of Lake Lillian, made his first court appearance Monday on felony charges of fifth-degree drug possession, receiving stolen property, possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a violent crime and for storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult.

WILLMAR — Mohamed Ahmed Jama, 20, of Willmar, was sentenced Thursday to 41 months in prison on a felony charge of first-degree aggravated robbery for robbing the Holiday Station along Litchfield Avenue Southwest during the early morning hours of July 18.

Man pleads to drug sale and possession, plus theft charge

WILLMAR — Tony Gerrero Jr., 19, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Thursday to a third-degree drug sale for selling methamphetamine to CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents on multiple occasions last fall and to a fifth-degree drug possession charge for possessing narcotic pain pills while he was attempting to swindle agents in a bogus drug deal in March.
