Hensels honored for community involvement

Longtime local grocers Bob and Jeff Hensel, front, were recognized Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the Park Rapids Downtown Business Association’s annual meeting for their dedication to the community of Park Rapids through their business, J&B Foods. Bob and Jeff Hensel announced the sale of J&B Foods to a family-owned chain of supermarket grocery stores, Hugo’s, in November. DBA President Cynthia Jones said that Jeff and Bob, “not only owned J&B, but you had ownership. It was more than selling groceries.” The brothers were presented with paintings of the store by artist Amy Larson on behalf of the DBA and Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. They were asked to pose for a photo with DBA members last week.
