NDFU members elect delegates

North Dakota Farmers Union members elected delegates to attend the national Farmers Union convention last weekend. Nov. 21 was election day for North Dakota Farmers Union members and 17 delegates will attend the convention in Rapid City, S.D., from March 14-16.

North Dakota Farmers Union members elected delegates to attend the national Farmers Union convention last weekend. Nov. 21 was election day for North Dakota Farmers Union members and 17 delegates will attend the convention in Rapid City, S.D., from March 14-16.

District 1 delegates are Adam Leiphon, Devils Lake; Jay Hodgson, Pisek; and Matt Gilbertson, Maddock. District 2 delegates are Maxine Rognlein, Towner; Eric Blumhagen, Drake; and Myron Blumhagen, Drake. District 3 delegates are Bernadette Perdue, Ray; Steve Dhuyvetter, Crosby; and Ruben Olson, Kenmare. District 4 delegates are Dean Baar, Gladstone and Curtis Wax, Regent. District 5 delegates are James Schmidt, Menoken and Allen Lund, Selfridge. District 6 delegates are Rachel Becker, Wishek and Nicholas Bartle, Edgeley. District 7 delegates are Brittnay McInnes, Hillsboro and State Representative Ben Vig, Sharon.

“North Dakota Farmers Union will be very well represented by the delegates elected to the national convention. The policies being discussed at the national level offer North Dakota Farmers Union an opportunity to influence historic legislation, which will affect family farmers for many years to come,” said President Robert Carlson.

Each delegate is able to debate policy on the floor of the national convention and each delegate receives a trip to the national convention so they are able to perform their duties.
