Agricultural projects approve funds

The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission approved $33,925 in funding to three agricultural projects at its quarterly meeting at the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora July 23.

The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission approved $33,925 in funding to three agricultural projects at its quarterly meeting at the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora July 23.

The following requests were funded:

* Destiny Dairy, LLLP, Stanton, was awarded $6,925 for a feasibility study for processing composted manure. 

* KAT LET, Oakes, was awarded $26,000 to build a build a prototype heavy duty farm scraper.

* The Hayloft, Ashley, was awarded $1,000 for marketing and advertising it trail rides and covered wagon rides. 

APUC is a program of the North Dakota Department of Commerce that administers grant programs for researching and developing new and expanded uses for North Dakota agricultural products. The grants can be used for basic and applied research, marketing and cooperative marketing utilization, farm diversification, nature-based agri-tourism, technology, agricultural prototype and technical assistance.

APUC will hold its next grant application hearing Nov. 19 and 20 in Casselton. Applications for the November meeting must be received by Oct. 1. Prototype and technical assistance applications must be received by Sept. 1.
