State Fair sets record

The North Dakota State Fair is off to a record-setting start. More than 50,000 people attended the fair in Minot Saturday — the most ever on a single day. The crowd pushed the two-day total to more than 85,000.

MINOT (AP) — The North Dakota State Fair is off to a record-setting start.

More than 50,000 people attended the fair in Minot Saturday — the most ever on a single day. The crowd pushed the two-day total to more than 85,000.

Country music sensation Taylor Swift’s concert attracted a sellout crowd of more than 16,000 on Saturday night. She joins Huey Lewis and the News as the only music acts to officially sell out at the fair.

The fair runs through Aug. 1.
