Farm Bureau awards seven scholarships

Stutsman County Farm Bureau awarded seven $500 scholarships to seven area seniors. Applicants must be attending college in North Dakota or a neighboring state and their parents must be Stutsman County Farm Bureau members. Scholarships are based on grade point average, high school and community activities and future career plans.

Scholarships are based on grade point average, high school and community activities and future career plans.

The seven recipients include: Sara Scott, daughter of Mike and Jolene Scott. She is planning on attending the University of Minnesota Crookston and major in animal science and then go on to veterinary school. She is the recipient of the Jeff Michel Memorial Scholarship.

Brianna Taylor is the daughter of Dayne and Marjo Headland and attends Jamestown College, majoring in nursing.

Kelsi Manley is the daughter of Steve and Robbin Manley and plans to attend St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn., where she plans to attain her degree and then go on to medical school.

Aaron Vigessa is the son of Myron and Nancy Vigessa. He plans to attend the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, to study mechanical engineering and hopes to work on the energy field.

Jenae Kramlich plans to attend Jamestown College and is the daughter of Rick and Joan Kramlich. She wants to pursue a degree in a medical field.

Kimberly Herman is the daughter of Tim and June Herman and will attend North Dakota State University, Fargo, in the fall pursuing a degree in the medical or engineering field.

Barbara Trautman is the daughter of Tom and Jane Trautman and will attend the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in the fall. She hopes to explore majors in forensic science or criminal justice.
