DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Business at a livestock auction in Dickinson has been disrupted by the tornado that hit the city last week.
Stockmen's Livestock Exchange President Larry Schnell says the company's east and west facilities both were damaged, and sales will be conducted only at the west facility for about a month until repairs can be made.
The west facility suffered damage to a small feedlot, four buildings, a water system and electrical poles. The east facility lost a 40-by-200-foot building that includes a machine shed and veterinary facility, as well as some electrical service.
No major injuries were reported from the July 8 twister, but officials say it destroyed 23 buildings and damaged many others, mostly in the south part of the city. Damage is estimated at more than $20 million.
