Potato stocks up in North Dakota
Potato stocks in North Dakota are up 2 percent from a year ago, but down 23 percent from 2007.
FARGO (AP) — Potato stocks in North Dakota are up 2 percent from a year ago, but down 23 percent from 2007.
The Agriculture Department said the amount of potatoes held by growers, dealers and processors in the state on April 1 stood at 6.10 million hundredweight. Current stocks represent 27 percent of production.
Nationwide, potato stocks on April 1 stood at 115 million hundredweight — down 9 percent from last year and down 5 percent from 2007.
