To the Editor:

In recognition of National Teach Ag Day March 15, I would like to take the opportunity to thank my high school ag teacher, Mr. Chris Sheehan, for all of his hard work and dedication to the Red Wing agricultural education program and FFA chapter.

His passion and dedication to helping students succeed is inspiring. He is always available to give advice, lend a hand, or support the many endeavors our FFA chapter is part of. He continues to be a big influence in my life as I attend the University of Minnesota through PSEO.

I know he doesn’t always realize the impact he has on students, but I hope he knows that his time and energy is appreciated. Not only has he taught me about agriculture but he has showed me the endless opportunities that are available in agriculture.

With his help I have become a World Food Prize Global Youth Institute participant and I have found my passion for helping the world reach food security. Through my many ventures and crazy ideas he has always been behind me with support and advice.

I hope to someday be able to inspire people the way he inspires my peers and I. He has opened so many doors of opportunity to me and I am forever grateful. The community of Red Wing is very fortunate to have Mr. Sheehan as the ag teacher.
