Rural Northwood farmers getting help
Some farmers in the Northwood area are getting federal money to help them restore farmland that was damaged by the tornado that devastated the community last August.
NORTHWOOD, N.D. (AP) — Some farmers in the Northwood area are getting federal money to help them restore farmland that was damaged by the tornado that devastated the community last August.
North Dakota’s congressional delegation says a total of $23,800 has been approved through the Agriculture Department’s Emergency Conservation Program.
The money is to help producers remove debris from farmland, restore fences and strengthen soil conservation measures. Ten farmers qualified for assistance.
