WILLMAR — Prinsco, which has its corporate headquarters at the MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar, announced it will open a new production facility in South Dakota.
A division of Duininck Companies, Prinsco began producing polyethylene drainage pipe in 1975 in Prinsburg. The products are used for agricultural, construction and landscaping industries.
Besides Prinsburg, the company has manufacturing facilities in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and California.
The new plant in the Greater Sioux Falls, S.D., area is expected to become operational this summer and initially employ 12-15 individuals.
The expansion will provide greater capacity and improved service for customers in the upper Midwest, according to a press release
Agricultural customers near the I-90 and I-29 corridors of South Dakota, Nebraska, northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota will benefit from the new plant, as well as the construction and highway markets in those areas, said company officials.
“The South Dakota plant is yet another example of our commitment to our customers and this industry,” said James Duininck, vice president of sales at Prinsco. “We look forward to servicing our customers from this location.”
