Well-known acoustic duo Storyhill, featuring Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson, will bring fast strumming and tight harmonies to the State Theatre in Zumbrota at 7:30 p.m. April 25.

Boston area violinist and singer-songwriter Jake Armerding will open for the duo.

Storyhill has sold out each time they’ve come to the Crossings at Carnegie concert stage, prompting sponsors to move the event to the larger theater just a few doors away.

“With voices reminiscent of the Everly Brothers and Simon & Garfunkel, Storyhill creates a sound both classic and completely fresh,” Crossings officials said.

“Like label-mates Greg Brown and The Pines, Storyhill has a deep appreciation for many musical styles — rock, roots, blues and country. Storyhill’s music is a perfect blend of Americana, folk and pop and recalls the early alt-country sounds of The Jayhawks.”

Cunningham and Hermanson mixed those influences with their own unique sound, and as a result developed an impressive fan base that includes a wide variety of music lovers.

Tickets are $22 in advance and $24 at the door.

Visit Crossings at 320 East Ave. in Zumbrota or call (507)-732-7616. For more information, go online to www.crossingsatcarnegie.com.
