Man dies in farm accident near Welch

WELCH - A man died near Welch Saturday during a farm accident.

Roberto Fuetre-Chavelas, 28, was killed after getting caught in a conveyor belt at Ries Farms in Welch, according to the Goodhue County sheriff’s department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s department isn’t sure the exact cause of death.

Fuetre-Chavelas was loading compost leaves onto a conveyor belt when his jacket sleeve was caught in the conveyor. Fuetre-Chavelas was living in a bunkhouse on the farm and has family in Red Wing, according to the sheriff's department.
