Horticultural business-planning workshop set
The Ward County Extension Service office is sponsoring a workshop Thursday for anyone interested in beginning or expanding a horticultural business.
The Ward County Extension Service office is sponsoring a workshop Thursday for anyone interested in beginning or expanding a horticultural business.
It will be at North Dakota State University’s North Central Research Extension Center south of Minot. The event will start at 6 p.m. with a light supper.
Rod Holth, an area business consultant, will begin the program with a presentation on the importance of developing a business plan and determining the feasibility of a new business.
Glenn Muske, NDSU Extension rural and agribusiness enterprise development specialist, will offer information on programs available to assist in starting a business. Holly Rose Mawby, director of the Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture at Dakota College at Bottineau, will discuss the business opportunities in the horticulture area.
The workshop will conclude with a panel discussion. New horticultural business owners will describe the issues they dealt with as they started their venture.
The cost of attending the workshop is $10, which is payable at the door.

The North Central Research Extension Center is one mile south of Minot on U.S. Highway 83.
The Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture and Local Foods Committee in Minot are co-sponsoring the workshop.
