The North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association will be holding its third annual Lamb Cook Off in conjunction with its annual convention and meeting.

The North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association will be holding its third annual Lamb Cook Off in conjunction with its annual convention and meeting.

The cook-off is scheduled Nov. 19 at the Seven Seas Inn in Mandan. Judging begins at 5 p.m. A “People’s Choice” contest will begin tasting about 8 p.m.

The purpose of the lamb cook-off is to share recipes and ideas for cooking lamb, demonstrate how easy and versatile lamb can be, and ultimately, result in people eating lamb more often.

The North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association encourages entries from anyone who likes to cook. The group hopes to get entries from non-lamb producers as well as lamb producers who will be attending the convention.

Entries must be in one of three categories: easy and economical, fancy and fabulous, and youth. Prizes will be awarded for the top two places in each division.

For official rules and an entry form, go to the North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers website at www.ndlwpa.com or contact Anne Osborne at (701) 435-2927 or osborne@daktel.com.

Entries are due Nov. 10. For more information on the convention, contact Wyman Scheetz, association president, at (701) 794-8743 or wscheetz@westriv.com.
