Wisconsin’s corn crop remains ahead of schedule, despite the recent cool weather.
Officials say 44-percent of the corn-for-grain has been chopped, about 20-percent ahead of normal. And the crop in general is still maturing well ahead of normal.
The soybean crop is also ahead of schedule, but there are more reports of sudden death syndrome in some places. The third crop of hay is 92-percent made, and the fourth crop is 43-percent finished.
Fields still have lots of moisture. Officials say 83-percent of Wisconsin fields have adequate moisture, and 13-percent have surpluses.
