Man trapped in grain bin near Fairmount, ND

FAIRMOUNT, N.D. – A 20-year-old man was trapped for almost an hour Friday morning in a grain bin here.

FAIRMOUNT, N.D. – A 20-year-old man was trapped for almost an hour Friday morning in a grain bin here.

Matt Restad was shoveling around a door at West Acres Grain when he became stuck and sank up to chest level in the bin, employees told the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 8:55 a.m., the sheriff’s office and Fairmount Fire and Rescue were able to extricate Restad, who was then transported to St. Francis Health Care in Breckenridge, Minn., with what appeared to be injuries that were not life-threatening.

Restad’s condition was unknown Friday afternoon.
