NDSU center hosting canola field tour on Monday
North Dakota State University’s North Central Research Extension Center will host a canola field tour from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday.
North Dakota State University’s North Central Research Extension Center will host a canola field tour from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday.
The event is for area farmers, agronomists and industry representatives.
Participants will receive the latest information on topics such as straight combining; canola desiccation; variety development; biodiesel; and management of diseases, insects and volunteer canola.
Speakers will include Brian Jenks, center weed scientist; Dan Waldstein, center entomologist; Sam Markell, NDSU plant pathologist; Mukhlesur Rahman, NDSU canola breeder; Barry Coleman, Northern Canola Growers Association executive director; Ryan Pederson, association president; industry representatives; and a grower panel. Refreshments and a noon lunch will be served.

The Northern Canola Growers Association is sponsoring the event. The association also is hosting a golf tournament at the Minot Country Club following the tour.
