ABERDEEN, S.D. – A McLaughlin man died after being covered with sunflowers in a silo.

The Corson County sheriff said 52-year-old Steven Lee was helping dry sunflower seeds at a South Dakota Wheat Growers silo in McLaughlin. He was trying to free sunflowers that were stuck on the silo wall when they gave way and covered him on Dec. 22.
