CASSELTON, N.D. – The Tharaldson Ethanol plant near Casselton has stopped making ethanol for now and is in a 60- to 90-day period of working on equipment upgrades.

“We’ll be back making ethanol right around the new year,” said Russ Newman, Tharaldson Ethanol vice president of development. “We might even be making some on an interim basis at smaller levels.”

Newman said the plant will be operational at full capacity around the first of the year.

The plant is remaining fully staffed, Newman said. Employees have not been furloughed, but are staying busy installing the new equipment, he said.
