Potato grower group elects new president

The Northern Plains Potato Growers Association board of directors has named Chuck Gunnerson, Ada, Minn., president of the association that serves potato growers and shippers in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

The Northern Plains Potato Growers Association board of directors has named Chuck Gunnerson, Ada, Minn., president of the association that serves potato growers and shippers in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

Gunnerson has been interim president since replacing Duane Maatz last October. NPPGA is based in East Grand Forks, MN.

Gunnerson farmed near Ada and owned Ada Produce Co. until he retired in 2004. He is a past chairman of the Red River Valley Potato Growers Association and has served as president of the National Potato Council. He has also served as chairman of the Northern Crops Council and served as the Minnesota Area One Potato Council Representative.
