Organizers tell chamber scope of Farm Tech Days

Everything about Pierce County Farm Technology Days (FTD) is on such a large scale it extends beyond the host farm outside of River Falls to places throughout this region.

On Thursday, Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce members learned about the July 20-22 event’s wide scope directly from four members of its executive committee: Mel Pittman, Beth Ingli, Peter Stern and Greg Andrews.

For example, the impact on Ellsworth will be more than heavy traffic passing through the village on the way to the site at the Roger and Beverly Peterson farm, near the intersection of Hwy. 29-35 and CTH E. Andrews said a central remote parking lot will be located at the Pierce County Fairgrounds here, from where motor coaches expected to be provided by Treasure Island Casino in Red Wing will transport commuting event goers.

Later, Andrews added related attractions will include a Badger State Pullers Association tractor pull in Ellsworth on Wednesday evening of the farm tech show. Other opportunities for businesses to capitalize on the back-and-forth commuter flow will be available as well.
