Clay County is helping host a forum on wind energy Tuesday night in Moorhead.
The forum, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 1080 28th Ave. S., will feature an introduction by Clay County Planner Tim Magnusson.
Presenters will include Cheryl Glaeser, a program specialist with the Southwest Initiative Foundation, who will present a wind energy overview.
Melissa Peterson, program analyst with Windustry, will talk about leasing land for a project as well as owning a project.
On its Web site, Windustry describes itself as a nonprofit organization that promotes resilient family farms, rural communities and ecosystems through research and education.
Erik Hansen, Pinnacle Engineering, and John Schladweiler, from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, will talk about environmental considerations of wind energy.
A number of wind farms have been proposed for Clay County and are under review by the state of Minnesota for permits.
For more information, contact Magnusson at (218) 299-5002.
