Former Conrad aide confirmed to USDA post

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate has confirmed the appointment of Jim Miller, a former aide to Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., as undersecretary to farm and foreign agricultural service in the United States Department of Agriculture.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate has confirmed the appointment of Jim Miller, a former aide to Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., as undersecretary to farm and foreign agricultural service in the United States Department of Agriculture.

Miller served as senior adviser to Conrad from 2004 to 2008 and was his lead negotiator on the 2008 farm bill.

Before working in the Senate, Miller served as chief economist for the National Farmers Union.
