Anhydrous ammonia safety training offered

Registrations are now being accepted for the 2009 Anhydrous Ammonia Safety Training and Fertilizer Issues seminars sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and the North Dakota Agricultural Association.

Registrations are now being accepted for the 2009 Anhydrous Ammonia Safety Training and Fertilizer Issues seminars sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and the North Dakota Agricultural Association.

Topics include an overview of anhydrous ammonia laws and regulations, safe operating practices for dealerships and farms, required risk management plans for facilities and a checklist of storage handling and distribution equipment and facilities.

Seminar times, dates and locations are:

  • 10 a.m. to noon March 30, Eagles Club, Valley City
  • 2 to 4 p.m. March 30, Lake Region Junior College, Devils Lake
  • 10 a.m. to noon March 31, Holiday Inn, Minot
  • 2 to 4 p.m. March 31, Farm Credit Services, Mandan.

Participation in one of the seminars fulfills a state safety training requirement for all people handling, transferring, transporting or working with anhydrous ammonia at anhydrous ammonia storage facilities.

The registration fee is $20 for NDAA members and $40 for nonmembers. Preregistration materials are available by calling the NDAA office at (701) 282-9432.
