WINDOM — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday received a report from Richard Thoof, rural Lakefield, that he had found two farm wagons loaded with beans on his rented field in Heron Lake Township.

It was learned that one of these wagons belonged to Mathew Russell Ludvigson, 23, of Windom. Jackson County Deputies contacted the area elevators and learned that Ludvigson had allegedly sold corn and beans to the Wilder Elevator in early May.

When questioned, Ludvigson admitted to taking the beans from the elevator and then reselling them to the same elevator on three occasions for approximately $4,600.

Ludvigson was arrested until his Wednesday court appearance but was released on $3,500 bail.

Charges are pending on others believed to be involved.
